Supervision

  • On-site supervision is recommended following initial skill instruction and after all safety concerns have been emphasized.

Instructional Considerations

  • Intentional contact should not be allowed, e.g., body-to-body or scoop-to-body.
  • Teacher should stress student responsibility regarding the need for individual space to ensure students have space to perform movements safely.
  • A crease should be implemented if a goalie is used in a game situation.
  • Scoopball is an appropriate game to use as a lead-up to lacrosse or interlacrosse.

Equipment/Facilities

  • Goalie should wear a protective mask.
  • Scoop ball, wiffle ball, or soft foam ball should be used.
